THIS IS THE BEST PART (the rest is more obvious and aimed for younger people maybe, but this gives me hope):

It never occurs to someone in such an intense situation that maybe that personjust isn’t right for them… maybe someday you will meet someone that is easy to love. Easy because for once you finally know what it’s like not to be looked at as a prize, or looked through as a familiar possession, but looked into as the better half of someone else who doesn’t just know your value but cherishes and nurtures it. Somebody with no “buts,” someone who makes you feel like you belong under the sun. Somebody who doesn’t tell you how they feel, but proves it to you everyday in their actions, their behavior towards and around you, the way they look at you.

Because the most important thing about another person, the thing you should love before anything else – before their looks, their jokes, their intelligence, their friends, their family – is the way that they love you. Being with a person who gives you anything less is simply a waste of your precious time.
